Seven Characteriestis of Mystical Experiences.

"1. Ineffability (inability to capture the experience in ordinary language).

2. Noetic quality (the notion that mystical experiences reveal an otherwise hidden or inaccessible knowledge).
3. Transiency (the simple fact that mystical experiences last for a relatively brief period of time).

4. Passivity (the sense that mystical experiences happen to someone; that they are somehow beyond the range of human volition and control).
5. Unity of opposites (a sense of Oneness, Wholeness or Completeness).

6. Timelessness (a sense that mystical experiences transcend time).

7. A feeling that one has somehow encountered “the true self” (a sense that mystical experiences reveal the nature of our true, cosmic self: one that is beyond life and death, beyond difference and duality, and beyond ego and selfishness)."

Drawing on his personal experiences and research into mysticism, Douglas W. Shrader writes in 2007 about the "Seven Characteriestis of Mystical Experiences."

Douglas W. Shrader (1953 – 2010) was Distinguished Teaching Professor of Philosophy at SUNY Oneonta.  He authored numerous publications, including Near-Death Experiences: Scientific, Philosophical, and Religious Perspectives (1995) and Seven Characteristics of Mystical Experiences (2007).

In Egypt, India, Thrace, Greece, Palestine, and so on, many places considered holy in the world have lost the spiritual power and the influence they had in the past. Over centuries, such places that had been marked with the imprint of exceptional beings have since been profaned by the presence of many people with impure thoughts and feelings and lacking in light. Whatever the holy nature of a place and the imprints inscribed everywhere on the walls and objects by beings of great spiritual elevation, everything is lost if such a place is exposed to the comings and goings of people without the appropriate attitude and who don't know how to maintain its holy nature: the heavenly beings that were living there have left.
You can of course visit 'holy places', but do so with the awareness that above all, they must lead you to finding the one true holy place, the one within you, in your soul. Once you have found it, wherever you go, you will commune with all the great spirits that have incarnated on earth and you will be nourished by their wisdom and love.

binnen-buiten interactie

As you rid yourselves of your bad habits, the dark entities that had settled in you are obliged to leave you, because your inner atmosphere becomes unbreathable for them. Once exterior to you, they seek new homes in other people through whom they then try to harm you. But the damage is less great compared to when these entities squatted you, and since you were able to overcome them within you, you are stronger and better able to overcome them when they appear externally.
Even if confronting external enemies is often difficult, they are always less dangerous than your inner enemies who attack your soul. With respect to your external enemies, employ diplomacy and patience, but when it comes to your inner enemies, the dark entities you attracted, you must act with authority. Unfortunately, human beings often do the opposite: they are indulgent with their inner enemies, but are aggressive towards their external enemies. There is therefore no surprise they continue to struggle in such inextricable situations.

“In the early 1980's, spiritual visionaries and futurists provided clues to our changing planet. Often dismissed as crazy prophets, their thoughts for a new world were quickly ignored and laughed at. Gordon-Michael Scallion was a futurist, teacher of consciousness studies and metaphysics and a spiritual visionary. In the 80's he claims to have had a spiritual awakening that helped him create very detailed maps of future world, all stemming from a cataclysmic pole shift.  The result, while not based on any science, nonetheless provides a vivid and compelling picture of an Earth ravaged by flooding.

Scallion believed that a pole shift would stem from global warming, nuclear activity, and the misuse of technology. Another theorist and psychic Edgar Cayce predicted a 16 to 20 degree shift, while Scallion predicted a 20-45 degree shift. Cayce predicted that when both Mt. Etna volcano in Italy and Mt. Pelee in Martinique erupt together, there will be approximately 90 days to evacuate the west coast before the massive flood claims the coastline.”

In order to understand the importance of the present day, we must act as if it were our last. Some may say it's awful to keep thinking of death in that way. Well, it isn't. Thinking of each day as if it were your last does not drive you towards death, but towards life. No, the ones walking towards death are those who behave in a superficial, careless way while continuing to hope for a better future. Yes, they are squandering their life. When the wise tell us we must live each day as if it was our last, they say it so we will do our best to make today more useful, more beautiful and more precious. It is not that you really believe it is your last day; you are merely using the idea as a teaching method for living today more fully.
You have a minute here, an hour there, a day perhaps. This minute, hour or day is yours to create your future. Before the future, your true future as the son or daughter of God, can appear in all its splendour, it waits for you to learn all your lessons from the past. But it is alive and moving, and it is already here since you are creating it.

Wolvenbos

‘Wees mild tegen hen’, zegt m’n vriend.
