International People Plant Symposium 2012

International People Plant Symposium 2012 – Sept. 6-7-8, 2012
“The most important thing for the future is to learn how to resonate with nature. To resonate means making contact with life, with everything that breathes. I believe that the best way to find the right path for humans is to live a true, naturally sustainable life. When people truly make contact with plants and animals, there are new ways to communicate with each other. People will find their natural way of being. Synchronicity exists when patterns of human life resonate with those outdoors in natural ‘wild’ life.” Annette Beerens, Chair of the Organizing Committee IPPS 2012 “Diversity: Toward a new Vision of Nature” IPPS 2012 will be held near Venlo, in the Netherlands and is the 11th International People Plant Symposium. Organizing committee is the Growing Foundation in coöperation with the International Society of Horticultural Science (ISHS) and the People Plant Council (PPC). History of the IPPS The previous International People Plant Symposium took place in Nova Scotia, Canada in 2010. For the first time the symposium will be held in Europe. The symposium will take place at the beautiful Castle ‘De Berckt’, only 8 km from the Floriade World Horticultural Expo in Venlo. About Floriade 2012 History of the Floriade Floriade is a World Horticultural Exposition. World expositions are major international exhibitions that have been taking place across the world since 1851. They offer countries the opportunity to showcase their economic, social, cultural and technical developments. An expo often leaves behind it a legacy building, like the Eiffel Tower in Paris and the Atomium in Brussels. The Floriade World Horticultural Exposition has been held in the Netherlands roughly every 10 years since 1960. About IPPS 2012 Some 300 participants are to be expected during this three day symposium. For this unique event much publicity will be spread in the media. The purpose of the symposium is to create a platform for therapists, scientists, educational institutions and businesses. Furthermore IPPS 2012 intends to develop an international perspective on the topic of the people plant relationships. It will be a dynamic and colourful experience by means of presentations, lectures, discussions and workshops. A cultural program will add lustre to the total event. It will connect with the wider program of the Floriade at various moments and in different ways. Invitation for IPPS 2012 Worldwide professionals with similar and adjacent disciplines present their work on research, methods, models, cases that refer to the relationship between humans and nature. The symposium will be challenging for anyone interested in the profound relationship between nature and humans, such as horticultural therapists, therapeutic horticulturalists, eco-therapists, clinical and environmental psychologists, coaches, counsellors, trainers, human resource professionals, etc. Dick van den Dool geeft verschillende workshops op dit symposium.
