dood en wederopstanding

When you plant a seed in the ground, for it to grow, it must first divide: so it becomes 2. Then the sprout contained within it draws the elements it needs from both the halves that feed it: then 1it becomes 3. Soon after that, only the husk remains and it too will eventually disappear. So we witness the seed's death, and this death is necessary for new life to be born. In dying, the seed releases the powers of life it contains.
In human beings, it is their lower self that must die so as to feed the divine principle that can then grow, blossom and bear fruit. Nature never ceases to teach us about life, that is to say about death and resurrection. For what we call life, is really only an uninterrupted series of death and resurrection. Death is always the promise of new life, and this life itself will be followed by death so that new life can once again be born. This is really what resurrection is.
